The Lite pop up background allows the photographer to achieve "high key" photography on location and in small spaces, which was difficult to do in the past.
When rear lighting the background with continuous lights, the need for a background light is no longer required. The background is illuminated so that means shadows are gone and you get high quality "high key" photographs.
Alternatively, they work well as a large rear soft box that helps illuminate the subject well when using a strobe. Avoid complicated background lights.
